Ms. konrad
Ms. Konrad has a love for story that informs everything she does. As a child, she was always performing – acting things out, being goofy, and making people laugh. She attended Langley Fine Arts School from grades one to 12, and it seemed like she was always on stage – acting in plays, making music in bands and choirs, performing at piano recitals. She liked all of these activities but what she loved most was being in fictional worlds, both those she created and those she could access through the stories of others.
Ms. Konrad grew up watching plays and has been an amateur theatre critic since the age of five. So in one way or another, she has been studying what makes someone a good storyteller her whole life. As a precocious child, she became used to people telling her to be quiet, so she had to learn how to communicate in ways that people would both listen and understand.
Ms. Konrad’s love of literature eventually led her to pursue an Honours Degree in English. Once she graduated, she took a job teaching English in South Korea, a position that enabled her to combine her love of children, interest in other cultures, and passion for learning and teaching. She delights in connecting with her students and watching their confidence and knowledge grow.
