Mr. Argue
Since beginning his teaching career at BASA in 2003, Mr. Argue has worked with a wide variety of people from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs. Fortunately, adapting to an individual student’s requirements with agility and insight is the foundation of Mr. Argue’s approach. Whether preparing for a specific upcoming event such as a performance or interview or pursuing BASA’s comprehensive core curriculum, the common goal is effective, authentic, and confident communication. Using a student-focused approach to lessons, Mr. Argue imbues his classes with a sense of humour and always with an eye on a larger goal: Success in life.
Indeed, Mr. Argue’s former students have had great success at festivals, competitions, and examinations, but he is more proud of the remarkable young adults they have become. After attending the highest-esteemed schools either in Canada or internationally, they have gone on to build careers in business, medicine, law, media, and education.
A lifelong performer, Mr. Argue graduated from St. George’s School in Vancouver, where he was anointed a Rigg Scholar for his contribution to the performing arts and then matriculated at Queen’s University, earning a Bachelor of Arts with Honours with a major in Drama and Film. Over his BASA career, he has shepherded students through hundreds of examinations at every level and possesses an Associate Degree in Speech and Drama from Trinity College, London. Mr. Argue has just returned from sabbatical, which he spent living in New York City with his wife, and is thrilled to return to BASA.
