Festival Group Class is an add-on program for current students to support dedicated, determined, and driven BASA students in their preparation for external speech arts festivals through three main goals:
Community. We recognize that preparing a solo performance program can be a lonely experience. We hope to provide an opportunity for students to not only develop their own performance skills, but to also establish a network of peer support and encouragement within the BASA family.
Complementarity. We recognize that high-achieving senior students often do not have as much time as they would like to dedicate to rehearsing their performance program. We hope to provide an opportunity for students to complement their existing BASA classes with a more in-depth exploration into rehearsal and performance.
Competition. We recognize that the more performing opportunities students participate in, the more confident and expressive they will become as performers. We hope to provide students with a new perspective on competition so that they understand the true purpose of speech arts festivals and the learning opportunities found within.
Festival Group Class will typically run on the last Tuesday of each month from 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM.
