Mr. stack

Mr. Stack aims to create a playful and curious environment in his classes, where young people feel safe to unleash their imaginations and express their best selves through the use of poetry, literature, speech, creative writing, and theatre.

As a child, Mr. Stack would gather his family in the living room, where he would recite or act out for them the latest story from his young imagination. He went on to participate in numerous school plays and oratorical contests, and was eventually selected valedictorian for his graduating class. After college, his curiosity for theatre and language connected him with the Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival, where he coordinated a summer program for young people for many years. His extensive performing and teaching experience eventually led him to being selected as an adjudicator of Speech Arts at festivals throughout B.C. and Alberta, where he gained an even deeper appreciation for the power of the spoken and written word. His passion for reading and writing have grown exponentially as a long-standing member of a creative writing group who first met in a class they were taking together.

Mr. Stack is a graduate of the Studio 58 Professional Theatre training program at Langara College. He continues to develop his love of teaching Shakespeare and other literature with workshops at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and online with the Folger Shakespeare Library.
